Cookie Policy
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, phone, tablet) when you visit it. They help the site work correctly, remember your preferences, and in some cases allow us to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
In addition to cookies, some features rely on similar technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage. For the purposes of this policy, we treat them under the same criterion as cookies: if they store information on your device, they are subject to the same consent.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These are essential for the site to work. They do not require consent because without them we could not deliver the basic service. Examples: remembering your language preference (ES/EN), saving your choice regarding analytics cookies, or maintaining a secure session.
Analytics cookies (optional)
These help us understand, in an anonymous and aggregated way, how our visitors use the site (most viewed pages, devices, session duration). They only activate with your explicit consent. At the time of this publication, there are no analytics tools active on the site; the category exists in the banner as preparation for when we add them, and this policy will be updated at that time.
Marketing and advertising cookies
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies on this site.
Social network and third-party cookies
We do not embed social network content directly in our pages. Links to our profiles (LinkedIn, for example) are standard links that do not load cookies from those platforms until you click them.
3. Inventory of active cookies
Current inventory. Updated when cookies are added, modified or removed.
| Name | Provider | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ethia_cookie_consent_v1 |
Ethia Compliance (first-party) | Necessary (localStorage) | Persistent (until you delete it) | Remember your decision about analytics cookies. |
ethia_lang |
Ethia Compliance (first-party) | Necessary (localStorage) | Persistent | Remember your ES/EN language preference. |
Technical transparency: What we use is stored via localStorage, which technically is not an HTTP cookie but serves the same function. We mention it explicitly because the technical distinction should not be used to bypass consent.
4. Your consent and how to manage it
The first time you visit the site we show a banner with these options:
- Accept all: enable all available categories.
- Essential only: block analytics and any other optional category.
- Save selection: decide category by category.
Your decision is stored for 12 months or until you change it. You can review or change your choice at any time from the "Cookie preferences" button in the footer, or using the button below.
Delete cookies from your browser
All browsers let you delete cookies and localStorage stored by a site. See your browser's documentation: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
5. Third-party services
Although we do not use third-party cookies for tracking, we do load external resources that are standard for the web:
- Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com): Outfit and IBM Plex Sans typefaces. Google may log the HTTP request, but the font is loaded without cookies.
If in the future we add other services that may log data (analytics, maps, video embeds), they will be added to the table in section 3 and consent will be requested when applicable.
6. Your rights over personal data
You have the right to access, rectify, cancel, object to processing and request portability of your personal data. How to exercise these rights, the applicable timeframes, formal channels and further details are described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Applicable jurisdictions and legal frameworks
This policy and the cookie processing it describes have been designed to comply with the following frameworks:
- Chile: Chilean legislation on personal data protection, including Law 19.628 on the protection of private life and Law 21.719 on the protection of personal data, which comes into full force in December 2026.
- European Union and European Economic Area: General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU Regulation 2016/679) and ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC as amended by 2009/136/EC), applicable to visitors from the EU/EEA.
- United Kingdom: UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
- Other countries and international standards: we have sought to align our practices with internationally recognised privacy and consent management standards.
If you live in a jurisdiction that imposes additional or different requirements, or if you have questions about how this policy applies to your specific case, please contact us and we will review your situation.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the cookies we use change, when we add new services, or when regulatory updates require it. Significant changes reset your consent so that you can review it. The date of the last update always appears at the start of the document.
9. Contact
For questions about this policy or about the processing of your personal data, the official channels are described in the contact section of the Privacy Policy.
